1.) Background

• Teach at-risk youth from ages 12-20

• Taught Math & PE from Sept 2011 - June 2012

• Taught Science, Socials, English, Math, & PE for the past 7 summers

2.) Main Objectives:

- Listen

- Build relationships & trust

- Mentor & model positive communication, conflict resolution, anger management skills

- Foster empathy

- Provide a happy, safe environment

- Build all of these first to create success in school
